09:00: Manchester wanted to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko but the Monaco star has chosen Chelsea, according to French football expert Julien Laurens.
Yesterday reports claimed Chelsea had agreed a £35.2million fee with Monaco for the powerful midfielder but they were not the only club in for him believes Laurens.
"There's only a few details left between Monaco and Chelsea for the transfer of Bakayoko," Laurens said on ESPN FC.
"It was always on the cards really from very early on, he was their priority in midfield.
"Antonio Conte was always wanting to put (N'Golo) Kante and Bakayoko together and I think for him, he had other clubs interested like Manchester United for example, but Chelsea was always the project that he was really keen on."
08:30: Arsenal will sit down with Lyon as early as next week to finalise a transfer for Alexandre Lacazette.

Jurgen Klopp is thought to be a big admirer of the England winger and could take advantage of Arsenal’s plans to cash in on him.

“Alves wasn’t the player then that he is now. but he always looked like he would be a great player.
"Would he have been a better signing than [Jermaine] Pennant and [Peter] Crouch for example? Probably yes, but it’s easy with hindsight.”

20.00: Manchester United have made progress in their pursuit of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

“His first choice is a Premier League club.”

The Red Devils have already made their first signing, with defender Victor Lindelof arriving from Benfica.
And Yorke thinks a few more additions to the squad will mean they can bridge the 24-point gap they conceded to league winners Chelsea last season.
I think that Manchester United being the richest club in the world, in the Champions League as well, things are looking pretty up," he said on Sky Sports.
"I believe that come the start of the season we will get three or four quality players in and make sure we are competitive enough and raring to win the Premier League this season."

"Listen, you don't need me to say, everyone knows how what type a player he is and how good he is and what a career he's had.
"It's not for me to get involved in whether he comes to United, whether he leaves or Madrid or not, that's not my business at this moment in time."

14.00: Mohamed Salah is a top signing for Liverpool, according to former Reds midfielder Paul Ince.
Salah joined Liverpool yesterday from Roma in a deal which could rise above the club record fee of £35million paid for Andy Carroll from Newcastle in 2011.

Southampton reported Liverpool for speaking to the player without their permission and the Merseyside club declared they had dropped interest in him in a statement.
But Nicol is not pleased with how the situation ended and believes every team taps players up.
"Every single team who has ever signed a player has tapped them up, everybody does it," Nicol said on ESPN FC.
"The fact that Southampton have got the cheek to complain, because you know they've done it.
